Masked Rider

I made this piece about a year ago. It is the first actual charcoal drawing I have ever tried to do other than smaller drawings. At the time I was just trying to make something on a larger canvas size and I couldn’t think of anything. Was dark times for me mentally. But I knew I needed to do something or work on something. Mainly because I met a man and his wife and they told me they loved art. I said if I ever made something I will let them know. By this time the internet was in a storm over something or other but one that stuck out was whether a woman would trust a bear over a man if they were suddenly to appear in the woods while the woman was alone. Obviously the internet was divided. I to had my own opinion at the time though much later. You see, I would trust the bear if I was a woman alone in the woods or really any gender.

My argument being that you can always trust a bear to be a bear but you can’t always trust a human to be a human. Meaning that an animal will always be an animal, while a human can pretend to be many things. Course this is just a half baked argument.

But anyways I ended up selling this piece to that man and his wife. Blew my mind to be honest and am still grateful to him for helping a random artist. I have sold some smaller drawings to people but never something of this size.
